Worship

Our lay-led community gathers for a monthly first Friday kabbalat Shabbat & ma’ariv (Welcoming Shabbat & evening) service, and a monthly third Shabbat Avodat Lev (morning blessings) service. We periodically invite  guest rabbis to support our worship. Please check our calendar for additional worship opportunities. Our prayer books include Kol HaNeshamah (Jewish Reconstructionist siddur series), A Siddur for Shabbat Morning (Renewal Rabbi Marcia Prager, and other creative material. Most of our Shabbat services are held at First Unitarian Universalist Church, 93 W. Weisheimer Road, in Clintonville. During these days of restricted gathering while COVID-19 is a concern, some of our events are online with Zoom, so check the calendar for location information.

Our community explores the meanings and purposes of our liturgical heritage, and likes to experience different approaches to worship. Music is an important component of our services.

During the summer, we try to have a number of services in parks to worship in the natural beauty of creation. Homes and other locations also have become sacred spaces for us.*

Please check the calendar or our Facebook page for up-to-date details and contact us with additional questions.
