Meet Léah Miller: Our 5786 High Holiday Spiritual Leader

This fall, Kehilat Sukkat Shalom will proudly welcome another student of Jewish spiritual leadership to guide us through the High Holy Days. Over the past five years, our Rosh haShanah and Yom Kippur prayer services and social gatherings have been enhanced by the presence of these guests who bring new ideas and unique perspectives on contemporary Jewish practice. This summer, lay leaders from our Worship Working Group are working with Léah Miller (they/them) to bring together plans for the High Holy Days of Awe. Mark your calendars for the dates listed below and join us to enjoy the fruits of their labors and welcome the new year.

Léah Miller [they/them] is thrilled to be joining Kehilat Sukkat Shalom for the Yamim Noraim (Days of Awe) this year! They will be ordained at the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College (B’ezrat Hashem – with G!d’s help) in 2026. This year, they will be serving as a rabbinic intern at Kol Tzedek in West Philly. Previously, they have served at the PA Poor People’s Campaign, SAJ in New York, Or Haneshamah in Ottawa, and Temple B’nai Abraham in Bordentown, NJ. Léah is a crafter—of mended denim, liturgical music, Judaica and jewelry, blessings, and theatrical lighting. When Léah’s not learning Torah or tying tzitzit, they’re reading library books, piecing together a jigsaw puzzle, or getting covered in paint and glue.
